Motorcyclist Hurt in M20 Crash as Van Flees Scene
A motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run on the slip road at Junction 8 of the M20, around 8.20am on Wednesday 12 July 2023.
Van Driver Flees, Rider Taken to Hospital
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene, but the van had already sped off. The biker was treated for leg and arm injuries and has since been released from hospital.
Ashford Man Arrested on Dangerous Driving Charges
Later that day, a 59-year-old man from Ashford was arrested, suspected of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was released on bail pending further investigation.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
PC Rachel Burley of Kent Police said, “Before the collision, both vehicles are understood to have travelled along the A20 from Harrietsham towards the M20.”
She added, “We urge anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.”
