Parents warned: Check your child’s MMR jabs NOW amid worrying drop in vaccine uptake
Wake-up call on measles jab rates
Parents are being urged to make sure their kids are fully up to date with their measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has revealed a worrying decline in the number of children receiving their MMR shots. This comes as vaccine uptake in two-year-olds has dipped, putting youngsters at risk.
MMR: The lifesaver we can’t afford to lose
The MMR vaccine is a proven lifesaver, preventing severe illnesses in millions. Since its introduction, it’s stopped thousands of deaths and slowed the spread of these nasty diseases. UKHSA stresses that when fewer children get vaccinated, infections soar.
“Vaccinations have repeatedly proven to be the best defence against highly infectious diseases. I strongly urge parents to check their child’s vaccination status and keep them protected,” UKHSA said.

- Look in your child’s personal child health record (PCHR), commonly called the red book.
