Tragedy on Brown Lane: 19-Year-Old Dies in Horror Crash
Police are hunting for vital clues after a deadly smash on Brown Lane, Shelf, claimed the life of a 19-year-old man and left an 18-year-old fighting for life.
White Seat Ibiza Ploughs into Wall
The crash happened just after 11pm last night. A white Seat Ibiza was heading down Brown Lane towards Low Bentley when it collided with a wall. The 19-year-old driver died instantly at the scene.
An 18-year-old passenger was rushed to hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Four other passengers were also hurt but their injuries aren’t believed to be serious. All received urgent medical care.
Road Closure and Major Investigation Underway
The scene remains cordoned off as the Major Collision Enquiry Team leads a full investigation.
Police Issue Urgent Appeal for Dashcam Footage
Officers want anyone driving near Halifax Road and Brown Lane or local residents to check dashcams and CCTV for the crucial moments before the crash.
“We urge anyone with information, especially who saw the white Seat Ibiza on Halifax Road or nearby, to come forward,” police said.
