M2 Bridge Chaos as Man Found in Distress
The M2 Medway Bridge was brought to a standstill this afternoon after police were called to reports of a man in distress on the busy motorway.
Man ‘Dangerously Close’ to Edge
Just after 2.30pm on Saturday, officers received urgent calls expressing concern for a man on the bridge. The individual was spotted dangerously close to the edge, sparking fears for his safety.
Road Closure and Rescue
- Police swiftly closed both sides of the M2 between junction 2 (A228 Sundridge Hill, Rochester) and junction 3 (Chatham).
- The motorway remained shut as officers worked to detain the man and prevent tragedy.
Bridge Reopens After Successful Rescue
The man was safely detained and taken for medical treatment. Following the rescue, the M2 has now reopened to traffic, easing the disruption for drivers.
