Manhunt launched after chilling acid attack in Lambeth
Police release image of suspect with facial injuries
London cops are hunting Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, a key suspect in a brutal acid attack in Lambeth. Authorities released a new photo showing Ezedi with severe injuries to the right side of his face. The image was captured outside a Tesco on Caledonian Road, N1, at 8:48 pm on January 31.
Superintendent Gabriel Cameron warned the public: “If you see Ezedi, call 999 immediately. He should NOT be approached.”
Victims and heroes of the attack
The horrific attack left a 31-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged eight and three, hospitalised. Their injuries are serious but not life-threatening; however, the full impact might be life-changing and will take time to assess.
Three brave women who rushed to help suffered minor burns and have since been discharged. A man in his 50s who also assisted declined hospital treatment. Meanwhile, five police officers injured at the scene have been treated and released.
Superintendent Cameron praised their courage: “All these members of the public and my officers deserve enormous recognition and praise for helping the woman and children in what must have been a terrifying situation. We will provide them with all the support we can.”
Investigation ongoing – police urge witnesses to come forward
An incident room has been set up to gather any information about Ezedi’s whereabouts. Anyone with tips is asked to call 0207 175 2784. Police also urge locals to check doorbell and dash cam footage that could help identify the suspect.
Early findings suggest the attacker and the victims knew each other. Police are working with partner agencies and forces nationwide to track down Ezedi.
Superintendent Cameron added: “We recognise the impact on the community. Officers will continue patrolling to address concerns and gather vital intelligence.”
