Police in Bolton are desperate to track down a suspect linked to a spree of vandalism against police vehicles on Monday, 17 July 2023. The brazen attacks left two police cars out of action, sparking outrage in the community.

Authorities have released CCTV stills showing a man riding an electric bike near the damaged police vehicles. This image is key to identifying the suspect behind three damaging incidents within just 24 hours.
Three Shocking Attacks in One Day
- 5.30pm, Bury Road: A police officer spotted two men on e-bikes acting suspiciously in slow traffic. One smashed the wing mirror of a police van with a punch before fleeing.
- 9.30pm, Folds Road junction: Another suspect threw a brick through a stationary police car window, narrowly missing a student officer inside.
- Early hours, Bradford Street: Around 4.10am, responding to a welfare call, an officer saw a male on an e-bike shout abuse before hurling a brick through the rear window of his unattended police vehicle, then sped off down Bromwich Street.
Police Issue Furious Warning – Help Identify This Criminal
Superintendent Danny O’Neill slammed the “mindless acts of violence” and vowed Greater Manchester Police won’t stand for it.
“We have now got two vehicles off the road whilst they are repaired, and this is just not acceptable,” he said.
