Dramatic M20 Crash: Van Driver Trapped After Collision with HGV
Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Kent Police raced to the scene after a serious smash between a van and a heavy goods vehicle on the London-bound M20.
Heroic Rescue Effort on M20
The crash happened in the early hours between junctions 9 and 8. Firefighters used hydraulic cutters to remove the van’s door and create space to free the trapped driver. The casualty, believed to be a Polish national, was rescued from the wreckage and handed over to paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Road Closure and Aftermath
The London-bound lane stayed shut until just before 5am while police carried out their investigation and crews completed a clean-up and vehicle recovery. Thankfully, no delays were reported in the surrounding area.
