Purplebricks Hands Over £3,000 for Vital Hospital Kit at Portsmouth Kids’ Ward

Online estate agent Purplebricks has donated a whopping £3,000 to help buy a blood gas analyser for the Children’s Assessment Unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham. Until now, the unit has had to borrow machines from other hospital departments, slowing down urgent care for sick kids.

Speedy Care Boosted by New Kit

Kenny Bruce, Purplebricks co-founder, said, “The staff do an amazing job fundraising for this crucial equipment, and we’re proud to chip in.” The new analyser means faster blood tests right on the children’s ward.

Tracey Thomas, Sister at the Children’s Assessment Unit, added, “For a national company still finding its feet to give such a generous local donation is both humbling and inspiring.”

Real Lives Saved by Quick Results

Young patient Lucy Gudgeon directly benefited from the machine. Her mum Kay told us, “Lucy had hyponatraemia, spotted through blood analysis. Frequent testing every four hours was vital. The blood gas analyser on-site meant the team could monitor and treat her quickly.”

She added, “Thanks to the care, Lucy was fit to be a bridesmaid at her brother’s wedding, discharged just in time to help with the big day!”
