RMT Boss Mick Lynch Misses Brighton Rally Amid Train Chaos
RMT chief Mick Lynch was set to headline a rally at The Brighton Dome yesterday evening. But train delays grounded him, say organisers. Chris Webb, CWU communications officer, revealed Lynch couldn’t make it due to “significant delays and cancellations” on the Brighton mainline throughout Tuesday evening.
Enough is Enough Campaign Hits Brighton
The event was part of the “Enough is Enough” campaign fighting Britain’s spiralling cost of living crisis. Founded by trade unions and community groups like CWU and ACORN, the campaign demands:
- A real pay rise
- Slashed energy bills
- An end to food poverty
- Decent homes for all
- Tax the rich
MPs and Activists Fire Up Crowds at Packed Rally
Labour MP Zara Sultana, also scheduled to speak, was a no-show. But Kemptown MP Lloyd Russell Moyle addressed the hundreds gathered. Passionate voices from Sophia Rose, ACORN’s South East Board Director, and Bryan Coyle of East Brighton Food Co-operative kept spirits high at the buzzing event.
