False Alarm at Samphire Hoe: No Body Found

Emergency services were sent into a frenzy on Saturday morning after a dog walker reported spotting a body near the café at Samphire Hoe. The alarm was raised around 8am when a woman claimed to have seen a pair of feet and a head about 30 metres down by the sea.

Massive Search Response

Staff quickly calmed the distressed woman and contacted authorities. South East Coast Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances. The Dover RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat, along with Coastguard Search and Rescue teams from Dover and Folkestone, rushed to the scene.

It Was Just Lobster Pots

After a thorough investigation, the supposed body was confirmed to be nothing more than lobster pots floating in the water. All rescue operations have since been stood down.

No one was in danger, but the incident sparked a major emergency response and brief panic in the area.
