Missing Person Sparks Major Rescue Operation off Isle of Wight

Coastguard Leads Multi-Team Hunt
The UK Coastguard took charge, sending out several units at dawn. Bembridge RNLI lifeboat, the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter, Sandown’s independent lifeboat, and local Coastguard Rescue Teams all raced to the scene.
The Bembridge lifeboat, RNLB Alfred Albert Williams, was launched at 11:28 am despite a tough Force 6 westerly breeze. They quickly reached the search zone and scoured the shoreline for any sign of the missing person.
Selsey Lifeboat Joins Rush, Good News Follows
At 1:20 pm, the Selsey RNLI all-weather lifeboat roared into action, speeding to join the hunt. But before the rescue units could fully deploy, they got a welcome update. The missing person was found safe and sound, already ashore.
With the situation resolved, all crews were stood down. Bembridge RNLI confirmed their role in the swift and coordinated response that helped bring the ordeal to a safe close.
