Explosion Rocks South London Home: Child Rescued from Rubble
About 40 firefighters swarmed a terraced house in Thornton Heath after a massive fire and explosion caused it to collapse. Emergency crews pulled a young child from the debris and rushed them to a London hospital. The search is now on for four others still missing.
Massive Fire Response in Thornton Heath
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed six fire engines and firefighters from Norbury, Mitcham, West Norwood, Woodside, and nearby stations are battling the scene on Galpin’s Road. The brigade received 13 emergency calls before dispatching crews at 7:08 a.m.
Cause of Blaze Still Unknown
Officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire and explosion that led to the house collapse. The London Ambulance Service is also on-site, urging the public to reserve 999 calls for real emergencies and use 111 online for other urgent medical needs.
