M25 Chaos: Two Lanes Shut After Lorry and Car Smash
Two lanes on the M25’s busiest stretch are blocked this afternoon after a crash involving an overseas lorry and a car. The car was side-swiped and now blocks both lanes clockwise between Junction 9 and Junction 10.
Massive Delays Build Up
Highways England officers have slammed the shutters with a lane closure and set overhead signs limiting speeds to 40mph around the crash site. Drivers report crawling through at just 20mph as rush hour traffic grinds to a halt.
Recovery Underway, But Expect Long Delays
A Highways England spokesman warned, “The closure will remain in place while the vehicles are cleared and recovered. This will definitely impact rush hour traffic on this part of the network.”
Follow the Signs or Face Trouble
He added, “It’s crucial that drivers obey the overhead warning signs and don’t continue driving in lanes marked with a red X.” Ignoring the signs risks further accidents and delays.
