A devastating crash unfolded around 2pm on Saturday, 20th January 2024, on Thurnham Lane near Pilgrims Way and The Street in Bearsted. The collision, described by police as “life-changing,” involved a black BMW X5 and two pedestrians walking a dog. Tragically, the man and woman, both in their 60s, and the dog were pronounced dead at the scene.

Thurnham Lane remains closed in both directions—from The Street in Bearsted to Pilgrims Way in Thurnham—as police work to piece together what happened.
