A Havant teen is fighting for life after plummeting from a motorway bridge in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The 19-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries following a 30ft fall from the bridge over junction 4 of the A3(M) near Waterlooville.
Motorway Shutdown After Shocking Fall
Police and Highways England shut one lane of the A3(M) just before 1am after a passing motorist raised the alarm. Emergency crews, including paramedics, firefighters, and police, rushed to the scene immediately. The road remained closed until just after 4am.
Critical Condition at Southampton Hospital
The teenager was rushed to the specialist head trauma centre at Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. A South Central Ambulance spokeswoman said, “We were called at 00:53 to reports of a man who had fallen from a bridge over the A3(M). We sent an ambulance and rapid response paramedic. It is a Police-led incident.”

Local residents expressed shock following the incident. Authorities have not disclosed details surrounding the circumstances of the fall as investigations continue.
