A13 Shut Down This Weekend for Major Road Works

Brace yourself, drivers! The A13 will be closed both ways between the A1014 at Stanford-le-Hope and the A128 near Orsett from 9pm Friday, 4 March until 5am Monday, 7 March. The closures come as part of the massive A13 Road Widening Project.

Expect Delays & Follow Diversions

Traffic will be diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road. But to keep chaos off local streets, motorists are urged not to use nearby towns and villages as shortcuts. Non-local drivers should take the A127 to avoid gridlock.

Big Upgrades Underway

This weekend’s works include resurfacing, road lining, and lane realignment. It’s all part of adding an extra lane both ways between Stanford-le-Hope and Orsett, plus replacing four bridges and upgrading the tricky Orsett Roundabout.

Plan ahead or prepare for delays — this weekend’s A13 works are set to make a big impact!
