Sheppey Bridge Closed Due to High Winds – Diversions in Place
Highways England’s South East Regional Operations Centre is keeping a close eye on wind speeds and will reopen the Sheppey Bridge as soon as conditions are safe.
Northbound Drivers – Follow the Hollow Diamond
- Leave the A249 at Ridham Dock and head north on Sheppey Way towards Sheerness
- Carry on to the roundabout with the B2231
- Exit southbound onto Lower Road towards the A249 roundabout
- At the roundabout, continue your journey on the A249
Southbound Traffic – Follow the Hollow Triangle
- Exit the A249 at Cowstead Corner and take the first roundabout exit
- At the next roundabout, take the third exit onto southbound Sheppey Way
- Continue south, crossing over Kingsferry Bridge
- At the next roundabout, take the first exit to rejoin the A249 southbound
