Speed Trap in Headcorn Nets 13 Drivers
Speeding crackdown in Mill Bank
On Wednesday 27 April 2022, officers from the town’s Community Safety Unit hit Headcorn hard. Responding to complaints from worried residents, they targeted motorists on Mill Bank, a known hotspot for speeding. Thirteen drivers were caught red-handed driving over the 40mph limit.
Warnings and fines delivered
In addition to the 13 reported drivers, several others were given a stern talking-to about their reckless driving. Inspector Steve Kent laid down the law: “Following complaints from local people, we have returned to the village to remind drivers they have a responsibility to drive safely and within the speed limit.”
More crackdowns to come
Inspector Kent warned that this was just the start. “This enforcement will be repeated at different locations and should send a clear message that speeding and driving dangerously will not be tolerated.” Residents can expect more safety checks soon as the clampdown continues.
