Tragedy on Maghull Road: Man Killed in Horror Collision with HGV
Police are probing a fatal crash in Maghull that claimed a man’s life last night, July 10th. The tragedy unfolded around 8.10pm on Northway, near Dodds Lane junction.
Man in His 50s Dies at Scene
A male pedestrian, believed to be in his 50s, was struck by a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). Paramedics rushed to the scene but sadly pronounced the man dead on arrival.
Officers have notified his next of kin, who are now receiving support from specially trained police staff.
Driver Cooperating as Police Hunt Witnesses
The HGV driver stopped and is helping detectives with their inquiries. Sergeant Steve Smith from the Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:
“Unfortunately, a man has lost his life as a result of last night’s incident. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Detectives are appealing to anyone who was driving on Northway at the time, witnessed the collision, or captured dash cam footage to come forward.
