Big fire tears through Hilsea terraced houses

Crews from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester, Havant, and St Mary’s rushed to tackle a raging fire in a terraced house in Hilsea, Portsmouth. The flames spread rapidly inside, leaving three homes seriously damaged.

Fire and smoke wreck roof, damage spreads to eight homes

The blaze proved tough to control, with fire and smoke sneaking through the roof space and damaging a total of eight properties. Thankfully, no one was hurt and all residents were safely accounted for.

Brave rescue saves burnt Westie, vet care underway

A West Highland Terrier suffered burns but was treated on scene by the fire service’s animal rescue specialist. The pup is now receiving care from a vet. Firefighters fought the fire using 12 breathing apparatus sets, three jets, six hose reels, and the St Mary’s aerial ladder platform to tackle flames spreading through the roof.

Fire cause still under investigation

Officials are yet to determine what sparked the devastating blaze.
