Three Hurt as Boat Capsizes at Sunbury Lock

Chaos hit Sunbury Lock near Wheatleys Eyot this morning when a small boat with six passengers capsized. The drama unfolded just before 9am on 11 October, triggering a major emergency response.

Emergency Services Flood the Scene

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) confirmed three people were rushed to St Peter’s Hospital. Ambulance crews, including the hazardous Area Response Team, joined forces with police and fire crews to rescue five individuals from the water.

One Passenger Still Missing

Despite swift action, one person remains missing. Rescue teams are continuing their search amid tense scenes at the lock. The condition of those hospitalised has not yet been disclosed.
