Deadly smash shuts M25 anti-clockwise
Tragedy struck the M25 near Waltham Abbey yesterday when a collision involving a Ford Mondeo, a minibus, and a lorry left three people dead. A fourth victim is now in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Essex Police confirmed the crash happened around 6:15pm BST between the Waltham Abbey and M11 junctions.
Emergency services on the scene
The motorway remains closed anti-clockwise between junctions 26 and 27 as emergency crews work at the scene. The East of England Ambulance Service is treating multiple casualties from the pile-up.
Drivers warned to expect long delays
Police have advised motorists to steer clear of the area as the road will remain shut for several hours while investigations and clear-up operations continue.
