Commuters faced utter chaos on Friday evening after a train collided with a truck at the Princes Bridge level crossing near Liss. The crash blocked all lines between Haslemere and Havant, paralysing South West Trains services during peak travel time.

Services between Haslemere and Petersfield were cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Some trains were forced to take lengthy diversions via Eastleigh, causing widespread frustration. The disruption was expected to last until the end of the day, leaving passengers stranded and fuming.
Emergency Crews Respond, No Injuries Reported
South West Trains (SWT) confirmed emergency services rushed to the scene. A statement read:
“Emergency services have been called to an incident involving a train and a road vehicle at Princes Bridge level crossing close to Liss station. We understand there are no reported injuries to anyone on board the train or in the vehicle involved. Response staff and emergency services are taking care of the 20 passengers and staff involved.”
