Man Trapped After Plane Crash at Upminster Airfield

A man is trapped inside a plane that crashed at Damyns Hall aerodrome in Upminster this afternoon.

Crash Sparks Emergency Rush

At around 12:09pm, emergency services including firefighters, police, and the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene following reports of a light aircraft crashing shortly after take-off near Aveley Road.

Station Commander Jeremy Davies, on site, said: “Firefighters are working with partners to free a man trapped inside a lightweight aircraft near the aerodrome.”

Woman Freed, Both Treated on Scene

Crews have managed to release a woman from the wreckage, and she is currently being treated on scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “We are there, as is LAS. A man and a woman were apprehended. Neither was determined to have life-altering or life-threatening injuries.”
