Serious Crash Shuts M27 for Six Hours – Police Seek Witnesses
Police are hunting witnesses after a serious smash on the M27 last night (Sunday, June 26). At 11.15pm, officers rushed to the eastbound carriageway between Fareham and Portsmouth following a crash involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
Car Flips on Roof After Careering Up Embankment
The small car, carrying three young men, ended up on its roof after mounting a grass embankment. The 20-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
A 19-year-old front seat passenger was trapped and had to be rescued by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. He was taken to Southampton General with a serious head injury. Another 20-year-old man in the back was also cut free and taken to Queen Alexandra with life-threatening injuries.
M27 Shut for Hours as Police Probe Crash
The motorway was closed for over six hours while the Serious Collision Investigation Unit combed the scene for clues. They are now appealing for anyone who saw the crash or the blue Corsa before it to come forward.
