Major Hastings Sea Search Ends Without Trace
In the early hours today, Hastings Coastguard launched a huge operation after reports of someone possibly entering the waters off Hastings seafront.
Rescue Teams and Helicopter Scramble
The Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Lydd was scrambled, alongside a lifeboat from Pett Level Independent Rescue Boat and several police units. Backup came from neighbouring stations, including eastbourne/" title="Eastbourne" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Eastbourne Coastguard, to cover the wide search area.
Extensive Search but No Sign of Anyone in Trouble
Rescue teams, police officers, and even a police drone combed the coastline, all aided by the soaring helicopter overhead. Despite their best efforts, no trace of the individual was found.
All units stood down by 6am after a thorough but fruitless search.
