Blaze Breaks Out on 21st Floor of Tower Block in Elephant and Castle
Five fire engines and about 35 firefighters have rushed to tackle a fierce fire on the 21st floor of a 35-storey tower block on St Gabriel Walk, Elephant and Castle.
Mass Evacuation as Firefighters Battle Flames
Approximately 200 residents evacuated the building before fire crews arrived at 10:16am. Firefighters from Lambeth, Old Kent Road, Dowgate, and Dockhead stations are all on the scene, fighting the blaze.
Cause of Fire Remains Unknown
The London Fire Brigade confirmed they are still investigating the cause. For now, crews continue to battle the flames high above South East 1.
