The fire broke out around 4pm at the John Lewis store on Prince Charles Drive, Hendon, North West London. Multiple 999 calls reported a vehicle “totally engulfed” in flames in the shopping centre’s car park. Firefighters quickly responded with a significant crew to stop the fire spreading to nearby vehicles.
Crews from several stations worked swiftly to douse the fire, preventing it from reaching the store itself. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and the blaze is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
Police and Security Seal Off Affected Parking Area
Metropolitan Police and Brent Cross security cordoned off the damaged section of the car park while fire crews battled the blaze. Shoppers faced temporary access restrictions to parts of the John Lewis car park, but the wider shopping centre remained open.
