Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics urgently responded to reports of a drowning at Durdle Door beach in Dorset on 28 May at around 2pm. Emergency services were called after an unresponsive person was pulled from the sea amid a busy, heatwave-packed beach.

CoastGuard Clears Landing Area

HM Coastguard teams swiftly cleared the crowded beach to enable Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance to safely land at the scene. Multiple 999 crews attended to support the critical rescue effort.

Urgent Medical Treatment

Critical care medics provided immediate treatment to the casualty before airlifting them to Royal Bournemouth Hospital for further care. The patient’s condition has not been disclosed.

Other Air Ambulance Unavailable

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was unable to respond, reportedly spending about eight hours in a field in Wiltshire. The reasons for their unavailability remain unclear.
