Man Dies in Horror Crash on M2 Near Rochester
Police are hunting witnesses after a tragedy struck the M2 motorway near Rochester. A man in his 30s died following a collision on the coastbound carriageway between Junctions 1 and 2 on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the site. Authorities have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. The victim’s next of kin have been informed, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
Road Closure and Witness Appeal
The M2 was shut down for several hours, reopening around 11:50pm. Detective Sergeant Jamie Webb urged anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage from the M2 or nearby roads at the time to come forward.
“While we are treating the death as non-suspicious, we want to hear from any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage. This will help us fully understand what happened,” said Sgt Webb.
