Lorry Smash Closes M25 and A2 for Hours – Police Hunt Witnesses
Major Crash Shuts Busy M25 Junction
Chaos hit the M25 at 1.20pm on 7 April 2021 when a lorry smashed into the barrier on the anticlockwise carriageway at junction two. The crash caused severe damage, forcing the closure of the A2 London-bound for hours.
No Serious Injuries But Long Delays
Thankfully, no one was badly hurt in the incident. However, repairs kept the roads closed well into the early hours, with traffic only flowing again around 2am on 8 April.
Police Beg for Dash Cam Footage
Officers are still investigating and want to hear from anyone with dash cam footage or who saw what happened. PC Harriet Hamilton of Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit said:
“We have spoken to several witnesses but believe there are more who can help. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Drivers with info are asked to call Kent Police on 01474 366149 quoting reference 07-0593.
