Woman Dies After Horrific Moped Crash on King Street, Hammersmith
A tragic crash has claimed the life of a woman struck by a moped on King Street, Hammersmith (W6) this Friday evening.
Emergency Teams Rush to Scene
The London Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 5.30pm on 22 August reporting a collision between a moped and a cyclist. Paramedics, fast response teams, an incident officer, and London’s Air Ambulance were scrambled immediately.
“Our first paramedic arrived in less than four minutes. Despite our best efforts, sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene,” confirmed a London Ambulance spokesperson.
Shocking Details Emerge from Witnesses
According to eyewitness reports, the moped rider tried to dodge traffic by taking a shortcut along the cycle path – hitting the woman with alarming force and throwing her a considerable distance.
Nearby, a mother and child narrowly escaped being involved in the crash.
Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (Traffic Garage) are conducting forensic investigations at the scene.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
The Met Police have yet to confirm any arrests. They expect to release a statement later this evening.
Road closures remain in place around King Street, causing major traffic headaches for local commuters.
