M4 Eastbound Closed – Chaos on Roads
The eastbound M4 remains closed in all three lanes and is expected to stay shut until at least lunchtime. The closure caused major delays, forcing many drivers near Reading to abandon their cars and complete their journeys on foot for school runs and work.
Police carried out a meticulous fingertip search in the cordoned-off area, trying to gather clues about the incident.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We would appeal to anyone who was driving on the M4 near Junction 11 around 2.50am to come forward,” said Insp Andy Storey from Roads Policing. “We want to understand why a pedestrian was on the motorway at that time.”
“We are also trying to identify the pedestrian.”
The road has since reopened, but traffic recovery will take some time.
