Woman Left Distressed After Man Exposes Himself On Portsmouth Beach

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man performed an indecent act on a beach in Portsmouth in front of a woman. A 25-year-old woman was walking alone along Eastney Beach, near to the Frazer Range site, at around 6pm on July 14, when she was approached by a man who asked her to take his photograph. She agreed but as she went to take the photograph he had stripped off his clothes and performed an indecent act. She walked away and he left the beach and headed in the general direction of Fort Cumberland Road. The victim was not harmed and no contact was made during the incident but she was left very distressed. The man is described as having tanned skin, aged between 20 and 25, around 5ft 6ins, slim but toned and had short spiky black hair. He was wearing aviator-style sunglasses, a black jacket and trousers. He was also carrying a rucksack and a Samsung mobile phone. Sergeant Dean Juster said: “This is a rare occurrence in this area and has caused considerable distress to the victim. “We are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen this man on the beach. The victim believes there were a number of people in the vicinity who were fishing so we would like to hear from them as they may have seen something that can help us track this man down.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Juster on 101, quoting 44160262892, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11
