Balearic Islands Clamp Down on Boozy Brits
The Balearic Islands are cracking down on wild British holidaymakers. After unlimited drink deals led to chaos at resorts, the government has slapped a strict new booze cap on Brits.
Six Drinks Max – Only With Meals
From now on, Brits can only have six drinks a day—and only with lunch and dinner. That means just three drinks each meal. No more day-long poolside boozing.
Majorca and Ibiza Party Zones Hit Hard
The crackdown is already in force in Majorca and parts of Ibiza, sparking anger among tourists used to free-flowing booze. The Balearic government has also banned:
- Pub crawls
- Alcohol sales in shops between 9.30pm and 8am
- Advertising of party boats in some areas
Tourism Minister Issues Stern Warning
“We want British tourists – we don’t want this type of tourism,” said Balearic Islands Tourism Minister Iago Negueruela. “Check with your travel agent to see if your hotel is in the restriction zone. Not all areas are affected—mainly the party hotspots.”
Holidaymakers planning to hit the Balearics beware—your drink freedom just got slashed.
