Former President Trump Targeted in Shocking AK-47 Attack at Florida Golf Course
Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, has been arrested after allegedly pointing an AK-47 at Donald Trump during a round of golf at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Secret Service opened fire on Routh in a tense stand-off before he fled the scene.
Manhunt Ends on I-95
Routh, who moved to Hawaii in 2018, was spotted by Secret Service agents near the golf course carrying the assault rifle. Despite shots being fired at him, he evaded initial capture but was later arrested by local police on Interstate 95. Authorities uncovered a “sniper’s nest” nearby, complete with a backpack, GoPro camera, and the AK-47 used in the incident.
Erratic Online Activity and Unsettling Background
The suspect’s social media paints a confusing picture. Routh has promoted left-wing causes but also expressed support for right-wing figures such as Republican candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley. His posts targeted several politicians and public figures, while backing Ukraine and Taiwan in their conflicts with Russia and China.
His LinkedIn profile shows he is “mechanically minded” and runs a shed-building business, Camp Box Honolulu, which has received mixed reviews.
Trump Unharmed as Investigation Continues
Trump escaped unharmed. The Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland are closely monitoring the investigation into Routh’s motives. This attempt follows another assassination plot just two months ago, when Trump was shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump reassured supporters via social media, confirming he is “safe and well” after this latest attempt on his life.
