First Photo Released of Terry McMillan, 58, and Son Brendan, 27, Murdered in Bermondsey Stabbing
Tragic Attack Rocks Bermondsey Office
The first picture of Terry McMillan, 58, a well-known charitable property developer, has emerged following his shocking murder alongside his son, Brendan McMillan, 27. The pair were brutally stabbed in a targeted attack inside their Bermondsey office at The Trademark Group on Long Lane, near London Bridge.
Terry died at the scene, while Brendan was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries.
CCTV Captures Suspect Fleeing Scene
Grim CCTV footage shows the suspect sprinting away moments after the stabbing. A local resident who shared the video said it was clearly a “targeted attack”:
“I caught the same man on camera calmly walking down the street minutes before the stabbings. Then he bolts from the building in a mad hurry to get away. Police arrived just four minutes later.”
The suspect fled to a nearby hotel, where he was quickly arrested by police.
Friends and Colleagues Remember Beloved Victims
Rosemary George, 59, a colleague, remembered Terry as a “good boss and a fair man” and Brendan as a “fit and sports-mad young man”:
“Terry was someone you could always go to if you needed anything. Brendan studied PE, even played sport in America, and was full of life.”
Brendan’s rugby club, Old Colfeians RFC, paid tribute on social media:
“Brendan lit up every room he walked into, always smiling, cracking jokes, and full of life. His loss will be deeply felt. We also mourn his father, Terry, a long-time club supporter and sponsor.”
Police Continue Investigation, Appeal for Witnesses
A third man in his 30s remains hospitalised. The 31-year-old suspect is also in hospital under police guard. Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, leading the investigation, said:
“We do not believe this is terrorism-related, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Police will maintain a heavy presence in the area. Anyone with information should come forward.”
Community Titan Remembered for Charity Work
Terry McMillan, who left school at 16, built a successful property career and was known for giving back. Through The McMillan Family Trust, he donated generously to local sports clubs and supported British Olympians. In 2014, he was honoured as a Freeman of the City.
