Beloved Sports Comedy Show A League of Their Own Cancelled by Sky After 20 Series

After 15 years of laughs, games, and unforgettable sporting moments, Sky has announced that A League of Their Own will end after one final series.

The beloved sports-based comedy panel show, which first aired in 2010, will officially wrap up with a 20th and final season, set to begin filming in Manchester this August. The final episodes will air on Sky Max and NOW later this year.

A Fond Farewell to a TV Favourite

Originally hosted by James Corden, A League of Their Own became a staple of British television, known for its hilarious blend of sports trivia, outrageous challenges, and celebrity guests. In recent years, comedian Romesh Ranganathan took over hosting duties, bringing his own sharp wit to the iconic show.

Joining Romesh for the farewell season will be team captains Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott, alongside series regular Micah Richards.

Sky teased that the 20th series will “celebrate everything that has made the show such a hit” and promises “more laugh-out-loud games, surprise guests and sporting chaos.”

End of an Era

Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s Executive Director of Original Unscripted Programming, said:

“Series 20 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate everything A League of Their Own has achieved and to give it the send-off it truly deserves.”

We’re incredibly proud of the show — it’s been a cornerstone of Sky’s entertainment line-up for fifteen years and has delivered endless laughter, heart, and unforgettable moments.

Jamie Redknapp remains the show’s longest-serving cast member, having appeared from the very first series. Over the years, the show also welcomed sports legends like Mo Farah, Anthony Joshua, and Andy Murray, along with a host of top comedians and special guests.

While former captain Freddie Flintoff left the show in 2021, the chemistry between the new line-up ensured A League of Their Own remained a fan-favourite.

The show also expanded beyond the studio with a number of road trip specials across the UK, Europe, and the US, adding to its popularity and cultural impact.
