UK UN Envoy Slams Iran’s Nuclear Surge: Uranium Stockpile Soars 32 Times Over Limits

The UK’s Ambassador to the United Nations, James Kariuki, fired a blistering warning over Iran’s nuclear ambitions during a tense UN Security Council session.

Iran’s Nuclear Stockpile Explodes Beyond Limits

Ambassador Kariuki revealed shocking new data: Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile has ballooned to 32 times the cap set by the 2015 nuclear deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA).

Worse still, on 6 December, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran ramped up its production of 60% enriched uranium by five times compared to the previous month.

No Legitimate Excuse for Ultra-High Enrichment

Kariuki hammered home a stark truth — Iran is the only non-nuclear weapon state enriching uranium at such dangerously high levels. There is no credible civilian reason for this.

The IAEA warned it can no longer confirm Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful, triggering alarm bells worldwide about nuclear proliferation.

Diplomatic Crossroads: De-escalate or Face Consequences

The UK ambassador laid down the law: Iran must choose between escalating tensions or stepping back to engage diplomatically.

With UN Security Council Resolution 2231 due to expire next October, the diplomatic clock is ticking. Kariuki gave a clear warning the UK and its allies are ready to activate snapback sanctions to stop any move by Iran toward nuclear weapons.

Global eyes are watching — the nuclear stakes could not be higher.
