Israel Takes Out Two Top Hamas Commanders in Deadly Cross-Border Strike
Israel’s military has dealt a heavy blow to Hamas by killing two key commanders linked to last week’s deadly cross-border attack. The victims: Merad Abu Merad, head of Hamas’s aerial forces, and Ali Qadi, a hard-hitting commando company leader.
Ground Invasion Looms: Israel Ramps Up War Preparations
The Israeli army is now hinting at a large-scale land invasion of Gaza. Official statements reveal battalions spread across Israel are on high alert, readying for “the next stages of the war” — including a major ground offensive.
Middle East on Edge as Iran and Hezbollah Threaten Wider Conflict
Iran has blasted Israel’s attacks on Gaza, demanding an immediate halt. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warned from Beirut that Hezbollah’s involvement could ignite a broader Middle East war.
“Any step the resistance will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity,” Amir-Abdollahian said, referencing talks with Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
But Israel’s national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, fired back with a stark warning to Hezbollah.
“We hope Hezbollah won’t, de facto, bring about the destruction of Lebanon, because if there is a war there the result will be no less,” he said. Israel is focused on Gaza and wants to avoid a dangerous two-front conflict.
The region braces as tensions skyrocket and the fallout from last week’s rampage threatens to spiral into something far worse.
