Syrian Migrant Dodges German Jail, Now Battles UK Deportation Over Sex Assault
Fugitive Flees Germany After Sex Assault Conviction
Azizadeen Alsheikh Suliman, 31, fled Germany for the UK after being convicted of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl. Facing jail time, the Syrian national escaped by boat across the Channel. Suliman, who was shot in the foot back in Syria, arrived under a false name and was put up in a luxury Cheshire hotel – all on the taxpayers’ dime.
Caught on European Arrest Warrant
Police arrested Suliman last October after identifying him as the wanted fugitive. Court documents detail how he met the girl in Osnabrück in 2022, touched her bare stomach under a crop top, offered her cannabis, tried to kiss her, and forced unwanted contact with her chest and bottom. He received a suspended sentence.
After losing his job and failing to pay fines, Suliman fled Germany once the suspended sentence was activated.
Claims Deadly Family Feud Will Put Him at Risk
At Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Suliman claimed a violent feud in Syria spills over to Germany. “My cousin killed five males from another family,” he said. In revenge, three of his cousins were killed. Suliman warned that being deported would threaten his life.
“My cousin killed five males from another family,” Suliman told the court.
Lawyer Slams Deportation, Cites Human Rights
Defence solicitor Sophia Kerridge argued deporting Suliman would breach his Article 8 rights under the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects private and family life.
The migrant’s stay drags on, stirring outrage as taxpayers foot the bill to house convicted criminals under false identities in Britain.
