Israel Blames Hamas for Blocking Gaza Evacuation Routes Amid Rising Tensions

Israel Claims Hamas Roadblocks Trap Palestinians in Northern Gaza

Israel has once again accused Hamas of preventing Gazans from fleeing the northern Gaza Strip. The Israeli military released an audio clip of a conversation between an IDF officer and a Gazan man. When asked about the roadblocks, the man said, “people are being shot at,” suggesting Hamas is using force to stop civilians leaving the area.

On October 13, Israel ordered more than a million Palestinians to move south via two designated safe routes. The IDF previously shared aerial photos showing Hamas had set up roadblocks on one evacuation road, blocking the exit for many families desperate to escape.

US Sends 900 Troops to Middle East – But Not to Israel

The Pentagon announced it is deploying an extra 900 troops to the Middle East. These forces won’t head to Israel but are aimed at preventing the conflict from escalating further and boosting US military protection in the region. The exact location of deployment remains secret.

Pentagon spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder revealed US bases in Iraq and Syria have been attacked multiple times recently — 12 times in Iraq and four in Syria. He confirmed that the newly sent troops were already prepared for rapid deployment.

War Crimes Accusations Fly as UN Judge Slams Both Sides

Ex-UN war crimes judge Geoffrey Robertson has slammed both Israel and Hamas for allegedly breaching the Geneva Conventions. He said Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel justified Israeli crackdowns but condemned Israel’s bombardment of Gaza as “indiscriminate” and accused Israeli leaders of committing war crimes.

Hostage Talks and Casualty Toll Mount

Negotiations are underway to free all civilians held hostage in Gaza. Qatar’s senior peace negotiator, Dr Mohammed Al Khulaifi, said a temporary pause in fighting could lead to hostages being released within days, though the situation remains “very challenging.”

Meanwhile, France reports 35 of its citizens killed in recent Hamas attacks, with nine still missing or held hostage. The French foreign ministry is actively working to secure their release and remains in close contact with families.
