Israel Launches Air Raids on Houthi Targets in Yemen
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) struck Houthi positions in Yemen today, hitting key sites in Ras Isa and Hodeidah. This dramatic move marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict with the Iran-backed rebels.
IDF Cites Iranian Backing for Houthi Attacks
In an official statement, the IDF condemned the Houthis for persistent aggression. “Over the past year, the Houthis have operated under Iran’s direction and funding, cooperating with Iraqi militias to attack Israel, destabilise the region, and disrupt global navigation,” the announcement said.
Conflict Heating Up After Previous Strikes
This is not Israel’s first clash with the Houthis. Back in July, Israeli forces hit the Hodeidah port, causing $20 million in damage, according to local officials. That retaliatory strike came after a Houthi drone breached Israel’s air defences and killed a civilian in Tel Aviv.
