Predator Posed as Model Scout to Blackmail Young Girls
Ishmael Duncan, 24, has pleaded guilty to 50 horrifying offences after duping young girls by pretending to be a model agency scout. The Londoner coerced and blackmailed minors into sending indecent photos and videos.
NCA Cracks Down on Child Exploitation
The National Crime Agency (NCA) led the probe, uncovering Duncan’s network of fake Snapchat accounts. Using these, he threatened and manipulated children into sending explicit images.
The case came to light after two US sisters reported being blackmailed, contacting the NCA via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). IP analysis linked multiple accounts back to Duncan.
Thousands Targeted, Almost 30 Confirmed Victims
Duncan was arrested at his home in July 2021. Investigators identified 28 female victims aged as young as nine, spanning the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. Shockingly, he may have contacted up to 10,000 children online.
- Duncan’s cruel ruse: Promise girls modelling gigs for top fashion brands.
- He gathered ages and personal details, then asked for clothed images during fake interviews.
- He sent bogus contracts with copied brand logos to build trust.
- Under the guise of ‘body shape’ checks, he pressured girls for topless photos.
- Girls who resisted faced threats of photo deletion or ‘blacklisting’ from modelling.
Duncan ran multiple fake identities inside the sham agency, like ‘Callum’ the photographer and ‘Mark’ the modelling division boss. He harassed victims again to get more explicit pics or risk exposure.
Massive Haul of Child Abuse Material Found
Police seized 19,120 indecent images of children—ranked from category A (worst) to C—on Duncan’s devices and cloud storage. He faces 53 charges, including inciting under-13s, blackmail, sexual communication, and possession of extreme pornographic images.
Duncan pleaded guilty to 42 counts on August 21 and eight more on September 14. He will be sentenced at London’s Inner Crown Court on December 1.
This chilling case exposes the evil tactics online predators use to exploit children—and highlights the vital role of the NCA in taking them down.
