Peggy Rose, 32, who starred on Married At First Sight UK, has opened up about the painful break-up with ex-husband Georges Berthonneau. The couple, who met and married on the E4 hit reality show, seemed like a match made in TV heaven. But fame quickly changed Georges, and their relationship crumbled soon after the finale.
“Boys love attention, especially when they’ve never had it before,” Peggy said. “Georges got big-headed. He even bragged on the show that all his exes found him sexually desirable. Who says that?”
Birthday in Paris Couldn’t Save Them
Despite the red flags, Peggy stuck with Georges and they flew to Paris for her birthday party in January. But the romance was fading fast. Peggy noticed a shift in their intimacy and, by month’s end, they parted ways. Georges, however, was reluctant to go public, fearing the backlash of public opinion.
Valentine’s Day Shocker: Peggy Accuses Georges of Cheating
Heartbreak followed on Valentine’s Day when Peggy publicly accused Georges of cheating. She received messages, photos, and videos of him allegedly on two dates in December with another woman. “I was devastated. I cried my eyes out,” she admitted. Peggy says the pain was worse because her family had trusted and loved Georges.
But she insists the split was for the best. “I’m with a new guy now, just a normal bloke, not a millionaire. We both want kids — something Georges never wanted,” Peggy revealed.
Georges Hits Back
Georges, a former rugby player, denied all cheating claims. “I never cheated,” he said. “Her gaslighting, manipulation, and constant put-downs pushed me away. It got boring.”
Despite the drama, Peggy says her time on Married At First Sight helped her find happiness in the end.
