Shock Mugging in Southampton: 78-Year-Old Attacked and Robbed

Police launch probe after a 78-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in the early hours on Nichols Road, Southampton. The shocking attack happened around 12.30am on Monday, August 1, near Town Quay.

Thug Snatches Wallet and Flees

An unknown man approached the elderly victim, grabbed and shoved him before stealing his wallet. The thief then sprinted off towards Brintons Road.

The stolen wallet was black, holding £150 cash and multiple cards including a NatWest bank card, bus pass, railcard, top-up card, Argos card, and Nectar card.

Victim Escapes Serious Harm

Thankfully, the 78-year-old escaped without lasting injuries. Police have no description of the suspect yet.
