Heroic Rescue as Boy Clings to Eastney Pier Bottom

Just before 4pm on Sunday, Portsea Rescue 1 sprang into action after Solent Coastguard received frantic reports of a boy clinging to the underside of Eastney Outfall pier.

Trapped Against Deadly Currents

The youngster was stuck in a precarious spot, unable to swim back against fierce spring high-tide currents surging through the harbour entrance. With water flow at its peak, the situation was extremely dangerous.

Swift Action Saves the Day

Coxswain Luke Daurvalla and crew member Roly Warmington quickly sized up the challenge. They expertly manoeuvred Portsea Rescue 1 through the choppy waters to reach the boy. Rescued from his perilous position, he was brought safely to shore.

There, a lone coastguard was on hand to check him over for any injuries, ensuring his safety after the harrowing ordeal.
