Three mobile users left in the lurch as major voice network outage hits the South
Three, the UK’s second biggest mobile network, has been hit by a widespread service blackout, leaving hundreds unable to make calls or access voicemail. The disruption, which began just before 11pm, has left customers from Canterbury to across the South fuming and venting on social media.
Voice network down – calls and voicemail fail
It appears the root cause is a fault in Three’s voice network, preventing customers from making or receiving calls and accessing voicemail. The issue affects hundreds and shows no signs of quick resolution.
Network offers advice – but no clear cause yet
A Three spokesperson said: “We’re aware that some Three customers are experiencing issues affecting their voice and data roaming services. We apologise to any customers affected.” They added customers should try restarting their device or toggling flight mode, as this has restored service for some.
Customer fury grows as wait drags on
Users have taken to social media to express their frustration and demand answers. Three has yet to provide a detailed explanation for the outage or a clear timeline for when services will be back to normal.
