Fire Crews Tackle Serve Roof fire at Bungalow near Winchester

Four crews from Bishops Waltham, Hightown, Eastleigh and St Mary’s have attended a serve roof fire in Durley this lunchtime.Crews were called just before 1pm on Thursday afternoon. The bungalow on Durley Brook Road was severely damaged by smoke and fire. IT took fire crews and hour and a half extinguish the fire. Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, one main jet, two hose reel jets and an additional jet to tackle the fire. An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway by fire investigators. The owner of the property this afternoon is counting the cost of the damage. The man property explained that he was carrying out some work outside when he saw large amount of smoke coming form the roof area.
