Last Thursday, I was cycling home from work on my usual eight-minute route when disaster struck. A car coming the opposite way didn’t see me and suddenly turned right—hitting me hard.
I was catapulted over the bonnet and slammed headfirst onto the road. The impact? Unbelievable. I’ve never felt anything like it.
Helmet heroics saved my life
The one thing that stopped this from turning tragic? My helmet. Thanks to it, I escaped with just minor concussion and bruises. There was absolutely nothing I could’ve done to avoid the crash—it wasn’t even a busy road.
Just a minute from home, I thought I was done for. But my helmet took the blow so my head didn’t have to.
Too many riders risk it without helmets
Yesterday, I went for a walk and noticed several cyclists riding without helmets. Around three or four of them. Our brains and skulls are super fragile. Riding without a helmet is flirting with disaster.
Make helmet-wearing a must
“I’m certain my story would’ve ended very differently without my helmet. PLEASE make helmet-wearing a lifetime habit. It could save your life too!”
Don’t risk it. Protect your head every time you cycle!
